French Bulldog Training & Behavior Guide
French Bulldogs have a reputation for stubbornness that is partly accurate and partly a matter of matching the training to the dog. Sessions need to be short — five to eight minutes — and rewards need to be genuinely motivating. They don't respond well to long repetitive drills. What they do respond to: brief, rewarding sessions with clear expectations and a settled routine that tells them what's coming next. Teaching them to be comfortable alone, gradually and from an early age, is probably the most useful behavior investment for a breed that bonds closely and can become anxious when separated.
