PetMyDear is a product operated by Cloudain LLC ("Cloudain," "PetMyDear," "we," "us," or "our").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you use the PetMyDear mobile application, the PetMyDear website, customer-support services, and any related features, content, communications, or services (collectively, the "Service").
By using PetMyDear, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Where consent is required by applicable law, we will request it before collecting or using the relevant information.
1. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on the features you use, the information you choose to provide, and the permissions you grant.
1.1 Account and profile information
When you create or manage a PetMyDear account, we may collect:
- Your name;
- Email address;
- Profile photograph, when provided;
- Country, region, language, or time-zone preferences;
- Authentication and account identifiers;
- Communication preferences;
- Information associated with Google, Apple, or another supported sign-in method.
Authentication credentials may be handled by our authentication provider. PetMyDear does not receive the password for your Google or Apple account.
1.2 Pet profile and care information
PetMyDear allows you to organize information about your pets. Depending on the features you use, this may include:
- Pet name, species, breed, date of birth or estimated age, sex, weight, and body measurements;
- Pet photographs;
- Identification or microchip information;
- Vaccination records;
- Medication and supplement information;
- Allergies and sensitivities;
- Veterinary visits, appointment information, symptoms, and health observations;
- Feeding, grooming, activity, and care routines;
- Insurance information;
- Uploaded records or documents;
- Reminders, notes, and other information you choose to provide.
PetMyDear does not require you to provide every type of information listed above. You control the information you add to your pet profile.
1.3 Photographs, files, and user content
When you upload photographs, documents, notes, messages, or other content, we collect and store that content to provide the requested feature. Where required, the app will request permission before accessing your device camera, photographs, or files.
You can normally revoke these permissions through your device settings. Revoking a permission may prevent the associated feature from working.
1.4 Reminders and notification information
When you enable reminders or push notifications, we may process:
- Reminder titles and schedules;
- Appointment dates and times;
- Notification preferences;
- Device push-notification tokens;
- Notification delivery and interaction information.
PetMyDear reminders are provided for convenience. You remain responsible for confirming important veterinary, medication, vaccination, feeding, and care schedules.
1.5 Purchase and subscription information
When you purchase a subscription or paid feature through Google Play, Apple, or another app marketplace, the marketplace processes your payment. We may receive limited transaction information, such as:
- The purchased product or subscription;
- Transaction identifier;
- Subscription status;
- Renewal or expiration date;
- Country or marketplace;
- Refund or cancellation status.
PetMyDear does not ordinarily receive or store your complete debit-card, credit-card, or banking information.
1.6 Support and communication information
When you contact us, participate in a survey, report a problem, or request support, we may collect your name, email address, the content of your request, attachments you provide, technical details needed to investigate the issue, and records of our communications with you.
1.7 Information collected automatically
When you use PetMyDear, we or our service providers may automatically collect limited technical and usage information, including:
- Device type and manufacturer;
- Operating system and version;
- App version;
- Browser type when using the website;
- Internet Protocol address;
- General region inferred from an IP address;
- Language and time-zone settings;
- Device or application identifiers;
- Login and authentication events;
- Features viewed or used and session duration;
- Crash reports, performance information, and error logs;
- Security and fraud-prevention events.
We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, measure, and improve PetMyDear.
1.8 Location information
PetMyDear does not require continuous or background location tracking for its core pet-management features. If a specific optional feature requests access to your device location, PetMyDear will display a permission request and explain why the information is needed. You may refuse or revoke location permission through your device settings.
1.9 Information from third parties
We may receive information from authentication providers, app marketplaces, cloud hosting and database providers, notification and email-delivery providers, analytics and crash-reporting providers, customer-support providers, and other services you expressly connect to PetMyDear. The information received depends on the third-party service and the permissions you grant.
2. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure your account;
- Create and synchronize pet profiles;
- Store pet photographs, documents, notes, and care information;
- Deliver reminders and notifications;
- Provide personalized pet-care organization features;
- Process and verify subscriptions;
- Respond to support requests;
- Diagnose crashes, errors, and performance problems;
- Maintain the security and integrity of the Service;
- Detect misuse, fraud, unauthorized access, or violations of our Terms;
- Improve existing features and develop new features;
- Communicate important product, account, security, subscription, or policy information;
- Comply with legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
PetMyDear does not use your pet records to provide a professional veterinary diagnosis.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
Where the laws of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction require us to identify a legal basis, we process personal information under one or more of the following bases:
Performance of a contract
We process information when necessary to provide the Service you requested, maintain your account, store pet profiles, synchronize information, deliver reminders, and provide subscription features.
Consent
We may rely on consent for optional activities such as accessing your camera or photo library, sending optional marketing communications, using non-essential website cookies, or accessing location for a feature that requires it. You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Legitimate interests
We may process information when reasonably necessary to secure PetMyDear, prevent misuse, improve performance, understand feature usage, provide support, and protect users, animals, Cloudain, and the Service. We consider the effect of this processing on your privacy rights.
Legal obligations
We may process or preserve information when necessary to comply with applicable laws, lawful government requests, tax or accounting requirements, or legal proceedings.
4. How We Disclose Information
No sale of personal information
PetMyDear does not sell personal information. PetMyDear also does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use pet-care information to build advertising profiles.
4.1 Service providers
We may provide information to companies that perform services on our behalf, including cloud hosting, database and file storage, authentication, email delivery, push notifications, analytics, crash reporting, security monitoring, customer support, subscription verification, and app-store services.
These providers may process information only for authorized purposes and subject to contractual, technical, or legal safeguards. Production service providers may include Supabase, Amazon Web Services, Google, Firebase, Expo, Google Play, Apple, or comparable providers. The providers actually used may change as our technology evolves.
4.2 App marketplaces and payment providers
Google Play, Apple, and other marketplace or payment providers independently process purchases, refunds, subscriptions, and related information under their own terms and privacy policies.
4.3 At your direction
We may disclose information when you deliberately use a sharing feature, connect an external service, or direct us to send information to another person. Review information carefully before sharing a pet record or document with a veterinarian, family member, caregiver, or another person.
4.4 Legal and safety purposes
We may disclose information where we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to valid legal process, protect rights or property, investigate fraud or abuse, prevent serious harm, address a security incident, or enforce our agreements.
4.5 Business transactions
Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction. A successor receiving personal information will remain subject to this Privacy Policy or will provide notice of materially different practices.
5. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Account and pet information is generally retained while your account remains active.
When an account is deleted:
- The account is scheduled for permanent deletion;
- Associated pet profiles, photographs, care records, reminders, notes, documents, and other user content are deleted or de-identified;
- Limited information may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, financial records, dispute resolution, or legal compliance;
- Residual encrypted copies may remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups are overwritten.
We aim to complete verified account-deletion requests within 30 days. Limited backup copies may remain for up to an additional 90 days unless a longer period is required by law.
Aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you may be retained for analytics, security, and service-improvement purposes.
6. Account and Data Deletion
You may request permanent deletion of your PetMyDear account and associated data.
Delete from the app
In the PetMyDear app, navigate to: Profile or Settings > Account > Delete Account. Review the deletion notice and confirm the request.
Delete through the website
Visit: https://petmydear.com/delete-account. The deletion page is intended to let users submit a deletion request even when they no longer have the app installed.
Delete by contacting us
Email support@petmydear.com with the subject line "PetMyDear Account Deletion Request." For security, we may ask you to verify control of the account or email address before processing the request.
Important
Deleting the app from your device does not automatically delete your PetMyDear account or cloud-stored information.
Permanent deletion normally includes the account profile, pet profiles, pet photographs, uploaded documents, vaccination and medication records, care records, reminders, notes, user-created content, and the authentication account associated with PetMyDear. Information that must be retained for legal, billing, fraud-prevention, or security purposes will be isolated, access-restricted, and deleted when the applicable retention requirement ends.
7. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access personal information associated with your account;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Request deletion;
- Obtain a portable copy of certain information;
- Restrict certain processing;
- Object to certain processing;
- Withdraw consent;
- Opt out of marketing communications;
- Appeal certain privacy-request decisions;
- Submit a complaint to a privacy or data-protection authority.
You can update much of your account and pet information directly through the app. To exercise another privacy right, contact support@petmydear.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, but we may require evidence of authorization.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
8. California Privacy Notice
This section applies to California residents where the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, applies to PetMyDear.
Depending on the features used, we may collect identifiers; internet or electronic network activity; customer-record information; commercial information concerning subscriptions; approximate geolocation derived from an IP address; photographs and user-provided content; inferences used to personalize or improve the Service; and other information voluntarily submitted by the user.
We collect this information for the business purposes described in this Privacy Policy. PetMyDear does not sell personal information, share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about users, or discriminate against users for exercising applicable privacy rights.
California residents may request access, correction, deletion, or information about our data practices by contacting support@petmydear.com.
9. Children's Privacy
PetMyDear is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Users must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in their country to consent to online services.
Users under the age of legal majority should use PetMyDear only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under the applicable minimum age without legally valid authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided information to PetMyDear may contact support@petmydear.com.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical safeguards designed to protect information, including measures such as:
- Encryption in transit;
- Encryption at rest where supported;
- Access controls;
- Authentication controls;
- Restricted administrative access;
- Secure cloud infrastructure;
- Logging and monitoring;
- Dependency and vulnerability management;
- Backup protections;
- Incident-response procedures.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your device, account, and sign-in credentials secure and for notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
11. International Data Transfers
Cloudain LLC is based in the United States. Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where Cloudain or its service providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws different from the laws in your country.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections, data-processing agreements, and recognized transfer mechanisms.
12. Marketing and Service Communications
We may send administrative communications relating to account activity, security, reminders, subscription status, service changes, privacy or terms updates, and support requests. These communications are necessary to operate the Service and may not always be optional.
Where permitted, we may also send optional product news or promotional communications. You may unsubscribe using the link in the message or by changing your communication preferences. Opting out of promotional messages will not stop necessary account, security, or service communications.
13. Third-Party Services and Links
PetMyDear may contain links to third-party websites, veterinary providers, pet businesses, app marketplaces, or other external services. We do not control the privacy, security, availability, or content of independent third parties. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to PetMyDear, new features, changes to service providers, legal or regulatory developments, or security and operational improvements. We will post the updated policy and revise the Last Updated date.
Where required, we will provide additional notice through the app, email, or another appropriate method before a material change becomes effective.
